In July 1943 the U.S.S. Eldridge, the military ship, perfomed an experiment that should have made the ship invisible. There is lot of official and inofficial records what happened. The most admitted theory is the ship returned from the invisible state but the crew got changed, some of them retarted, some of them mutilized, some became part of the deck, just sticking out of it. It was an horrible look on the ship and the men.
What happened? And what did the crew see while being in the invisible state?

Re: U.S.S. Eldridge and the Philadelphia Experiment
I think it's just a hoax. It is apparently, because conspiration nuts can't clearly say whether the experiment occured in July or October and that person who actually came up with it had series of mental ilnesses.
I'm not even sure if there are any "official" materials as everything was proven fabricated and ONR officialy denounced this experiment as total "science-fiction".
Also, reunited veterans from U.S.S. Eldridge that their ship never boarded in Philadelphia.
It's just fantastic story. There's no point even in debating it.
