Samariá is the Europe's longest gorge in Crete. You start on the top, in the mountains, at Xylóskalo, the Wooden steps, and climb down the slope, over boulders and big stones, in the wildness. You have 9 hours to get in the harbor for the departure of the ship, or you stack here for a day. It's about 17 km, facing God and indomitable nature, visiting the ruins of ancient settlements, and watching the rocks that rise above around almost into the heaven.
